Ace stand-up comedian, Alibaba, has contributed to the viral discourse about what a woman must ‘bring to the table’ in a relationship.

Alibaba also took out time to advise women who pick up offense when asked by their significant others what they bring to the table.

According to the comic actor who has been married for over two decades, he believes it is not a reason to get offended as contrary to popular belief, cash is not the only factor a woman can bring to the table.

Using an example of his friend, he explained how even connections can be suitable in a relationship as his friend was arrested but released shortly after because of his wife’s connection.

He added money management, respect, understanding amongst others that takes precedence over love for some men in relationships.

The topic grew more prominent after Big Brother Naija star, Tolanibaj said she brings nothing to romantic relationships except her body.

But Alibaba, while speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, pointed out that money does not have to be a priority when stating the qualities that women have to offer.

“What you bring to the table doesn’t have to be cash. Sometimes it is Understanding, respect, and money management.

“I have a friend who mentioned that he asked a lady one time and they’ve been dating and he said, you know, I’ve looked at this relationship really and I want to know what you’re bringing and the lady was like, why would you ask me what you’re bringing?

“He said some people will bring understanding to the table and that’s all that matters. Some people will bring encouragement to the table.”


“There’s one time they they came to arrest one guy. What did the woman bring to the table? Networking, she called one person, called another person and said don’t worry… like 30 minutes later the vehicle that took him brought him back to the house.”
