PART 2: THE BENEFITS OF THE BLESSING ON FULL DISPLAY AT THE RAPU - OKPAISE WEDDING : That the newly wed Kene and Tomi are a blessed couple who will do mighty things in the land was obvious to all in attendance. The parents are clearly enjoying the fruit of their labour, seeing their children walk down the aisle with so much honour around them. The blessedness of the whole day is difficult to capture in words, but one of the officiating ministers, Pastor Kemela Okara, Secretary of Government, Bayelsa State, Nigeria shared a profound message, that it’s tempting to see the splendour of the day, the beauty and radiance of the families and guests, the lovely British weather, which held up so beautifully, the provision for the ceremonies and all the multiple outward expressions, and assume that’s the blessing. He said the blessing is a Person. Jesus Christ. Our gift, our ultimate advantage. He makes the difference to our lives. It’s in Him and because of Him, that’s why the families have a beautiful inheritance- which their children are now also experiencing in a deeper and new dimension. What a gift to company with God.
The message edition of Psalm 37:3-4 expresses what I’m struggling to convey. It reads: “Keep company with God, get in on the best life”. Wow!
That’s it, what was on display yesterday was a hint of the best life. Effortless beauty. Joy. Laughter. Immense spirituality without spookiness. Excellence. Character. No pressure to showcase the usual display of gaudiness that some of our ceremonies are known for especially when the parents are such prominent people in society.📎 ...
