‘It Was A Huge Mistake’ -Kris Jenner Says As She Bares It All On Why She Cheated On Her First Hubby, Robert Kardashian Sr.

Kris Jenner, a reality star mom, is showing everything.

The mother is proud of many aspects of her life, but there is one instance where shame overshadows her pride.

On Thursday's episode of The Kardashians, Kris, 67, confided in Khloé Kardashian, one of her daughters, about cheating on Robert Kardashian Sr. in 1989 with Todd Waterman, a soccer player who is now an animator, and why she felt it was her "biggest regret in life."

Before their 1991 divorce, the Kardashian family star spent 12 years married to her ex, Robert Kardashian, Sr. The couple maintained their amicable relationship while raising their kids together after their divorce. Tragically, the patriarch passed away at the age of 59 two months after receiving an esophageal cancer diagnosis in July 2003.

The 39-year-old founder of Good American, Khloé's ex-boyfriend, revealed the information while they were talking about him. He asked her mother,

“What was your mindset when you cheated? When you did that with my dad, and you had four kids and you had a family? Yes, I know you were really young….”

Kris who also shares kids Kourtney KardashianKim Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian with Robert, calmly responded,

“Being really young and dumb is something that plays into it because you don’t really understand the consequences of your actions.”

Khloé still wasn’t fully understanding and asked her mom again, “But what was my dad not doing that made you want to look elsewhere?”

Kris then admitted,

“I don’t know because he was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think that I fell into a situation where I thought that the grass was greener somewhere else, and I made a huge mistake. That’s my life’s biggest regret.”

Kris opened up further in a confessional interview, explaining why she hopes her daughter will think before completing cutting ties with Tristan, who’s the father of Khloé’s daughter True, 5, and son Tatum, 13 months. Kris explained:

“When I got divorced, Robert and I became best friends. We talked on phone all day long, helped each other through things all the time, and I did have regrets. I thought, Wow, what I was thinking? So I want Khloé to be really careful when she makes these decisions and she has to let somebody go.”

Back in their conversation, Kris told Khloé that while she may have regrets about cheating, she’s also pleased with how everything ultimately turned out. She said further:

“I’m not proud of way I behaved during that time, but you know what? Everything happens for a reason. I really do live my life by thinking God has a plan, and without that whole thing happening, there never would’ve been Kendall and Kylie [Jenner].”

Kris met Caitlyn Jenner (who publicly came out as transgender in 2015) in 1990, one year before her divorce from Robert Sr. was finalized.

In a recent interview with The Times, Kris revealed that the two “hit it off right at the beginning, and we were married after five and a half months.” She added:

“I was infatuated with her, because she was very different from me. But yes, I’d have to say, it was love at first sight.”

April 1991, one month after Caitlyn's divorce from Robert Sr. was finalized, Kris and Caitlyn got married. When the couple announced their split in 2013, they had been together for 22 years and had two daughters, Kendall, 27, and Kylie, 26. (December 2014 saw the finalization of their divorce.)

Kourtney, Kris's oldest daughter, previously discussed how difficult it was for her to forgive her mother for deceiving her father in a May 2012 Keeping Up With The Kardashians episode. As Kourtney clarified:

“I’m not saying that my mom was being selfish on purpose, but her actions were selfish. I can never understand, especially now having a child (myself), how she could have had an affair at that stage of her life as a mom.”

Kris was “stunned” that Kourtney was still upset with her for something she did 25 years ago.
