A bride in Mexico has been arrested for alleged extortion on her wedding day and hauled off to prison in her white gown before she could even cut her cake.

The suspect, identified by Mexican media only as Nancy N., was seen in images released, in a long white dress decked out in lace — as well as a pair of handcuffs.

She was arrested and taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office as she and her husband, Clemente N., arrived at the church for their ceremony in late December.

Her would-be-husband, whose nickname is “Ratón,” or “Mouse,” is wanted on the same charges, however, he managed to escape.

The couple has been accused of extorting chicken merchants on Dec. 22 in Toluca near Mexico City.

They have also been suspected of kidnapping four workers from a poultry shop.

According to authorities, six other people have also been arrested for their involvement in the scam.

One member of the group, Santiago N., was accused of “transporting the victims in a Ford Explorer pickup truck,” the state Prosecutor’s Office said.

The entire group allegedly has links to the criminal organization La Familia Michoacana.

“The fight against extortion of poultry and egg businesses has caused losses of over £37.2 million for criminal groups,” authorities said.
