Mary Njoku Opens Up About the Jungle of Parenting: Is Motherhood a Never-Ending Test of Patience?

Nollywood filmmaker and mother of three, Mary Njoku, has taken to Instagram to candidly share her rollercoaster journey through the trials of parenting.

The ROK TV boss painted a vivid picture of her experiences, revealing how one moment she feels like she's acing motherhood, only to be thrown into confusion the next, wondering how she ended up in the thick of it. Describing parenting as a "real jungle," Njoku underscored the unpredictability that comes with raising children, where one must always be prepared for the unexpected.

As she reflected on the deep, unconditional love mothers hold for their children—an agape love—she lamented the ways her kids have been testing her patience.

Her heartfelt post resonates with many parents, prompting the question: if parenting is truly a jungle, then are we all just trying to avoid being eaten alive by the wild beasts of tantrums and sleepless nights?

She wrote:

“One minute it feels like I’m nailing this parenting, and the next, I’m wondering, “How did we get here?”.

Parenting is a real jungle! Expect the unexpected. Hmmm. The love a mother has for a child has to be agape o! Cos dem dey test me o!”
