Denmark now has a new KING

Denmark gets a NEW KING - Frederik X

King Frederik X has now taken the throne after the abdication of his mother Queen Margrethe II.

For many in Denmark, his mother Margrethe was the only monarch they had ever known. But her shock abdication, after more than five decades on the throne, paved the way for her son, the former Crown Prince Frederik, to succeed her.

The handover took place at a cabinet meeting at Christiansborg Palace in the capital Copenhagen, when Margrethe signed a declaration of her abdication, officially transferring the crown to Frederik.

Large crowds gathered in the streets of Copenhagen, despite frigid weather, the occasional burst of song riding across the crowds as they awaited the historical moment.

The Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen then publicly proclaimed the King’s accession from the balcony of the palace – a tradition in place since the constitution of 1849.

Frederik followed the proclamation with a short speech, before being joined by his Australian-born wife Queen Mary and their four children, including the Crown Prince Christian, the new successor to the throne.

“Today the throne is passed on. My hope is to become a unifying king of tomorrow,” Frederik said. His mother, he said, “will be remembered forever as an extraordinary regent.”

New Zealand ex-Prime Minister WEDS longtime partner

New Zealand’s former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern married her longtime partner Clarke Gayford in a private ceremony on Saturday, finally tying the knot after canceling ceremonies during strict Covid-19 controls she imposed on the country

New Zealand ex-Prime Minister WEDS longtime partner

Jacinda Ardern, 43, and Gayford, 47, got engaged in May 2019 and were meant to be married in early 2022, but the ceremony was canceled due to her “go hard, go early” approach to the pandemic, which allowed New Zealand to keep deaths from the virus low.

She became a global icon for left-leaning politics and women in leadership as prime minister from 2017 to January last year.

Ardern, one of just two women to have a baby as national leaders, took her daughter to a United Nations meeting.

The wedding took place in Hawke’s Bay at Craggy Range Winery on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, about 310 km (190 miles) north of the capital Wellington, an Ardern spokesperson said by email.

Among the guests was Ardern’s successor as prime minister, Chris Hipkins, the current opposition leader, the New Zealand Herald said.

Why I don’t see divorce from JJC Skillz as failure – Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele opened up about her divorce from her former husband, JJC Skillz. Funke Akindele has been in the news for weeks after she premiered her movie “A Tribe Called Judah”. She has had many achievements in her life, but she has also had her share of failures, such as two failed marriages.

Funke Akindele spoke with Joyce on Wazobia about these “failures” and why she doesn’t perceive them as such. “If you don’t fail, you can’t be successful. You have to keep trying. Like when a child is trying to walk, the child will walk small and just fall off. So it’s normal for you to fall but you just have to pick yourself and rise again. For me, I see failure, I see challenges, I see obstacles, as part of life.

My mum raised me like that. My mum will say if you do not fail, if you do not fall, you cannot succeed. So you have to keep going. And note, I do not even see the failures. If you ask me now can you tell me one failure, I don’t see it as a failure.

My personal life – marriage, I just take it as it comes. My mental health is very important. My career is very important, darling. I have to make an impact. I have to empower a lot of people. I have to inspire young people out there. I have to stay strong for my children and my siblings. Why am I living? I have a purpose, so my head is up. Yes I cry, yes I break down, but after I cry, I just look in the mirror and say “Keep moving”.

‘Don’t beat yourself up when a man cheats’— BasketMouth’s estranged wife, Elsie advises women

Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of Comedian, Basketmouth has stated that women shouldn’t blame themselves because a man is cheating on them

The mother of two who has been dishing out relationship advice on social media noted that a woman is never at fault when a man cheats.

She noted how a woman can be beautiful, sexy, intelligent, be the best cook, and yet their spouse would still cheat on them.

While she cited the case of American rapper and her estranged husband’s cheating scandal, Elsie further advised women to stop feeling bad and blaming themselves for the actions of another person.

In the video she said,

“This is to women, you need to understand here that when a man cheats, 80% of the time, it has absolutely nothing to do with you. So don’t you ever beat yourself up again? You’ll be beautiful, sexy, know how to cook his favorite dishes, and be intelligent and smart and he will still cheat. So it’s not you, it is never you. So don’t cry in a room, or starve yourself of being sad. Don’t blame yourself for something someone else decides to do”.
