On February 14th, 2024, DSTV launched Africa’s first 24-hour wedding channel, called Wedding Channel Africa, at a press conference held in Lagos.
Olatunde Michaels, the founder of Wedding Channel Africa, revealed that it took eight years to execute and overcome obstacles such as difficulty in getting couples to share their journey due to privacy reasons. The conference was attended by Esu Ukpongote ( PR Manager, MultiChoice), Tunde Onakoya (Content Specialist, MultiChoice), and other stakeholders at MultiChoice.
Co-founder, Folake Otudeko, shared that the channel is more than just a showcase of nuptial bliss, as it also caters to all other aspects of the wedding industry, including caterers, event planners, photographers, bridal stylists, designers, and more.
The channel will feature a range of captivating shows, such as ‘Wedding Police’, ‘Sisi Eko’, ‘Link Up’, and ‘Clique’, among others, to captivate viewers with its diverse range of content.
