Maria Chike has addressed the relationship controversy that once placed her at the centre of accusations that she had been involved with a married man.

Her position is straightforward: she said she did not know whether he was married when they started dating and insisted she had not destroyed a marriage.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the former BBNaija housemate said she would stand by that account, adding that she did not destroy a marriage and would not do so.

The controversy dates back to 2021, when Cubana Chief Priest accused Maria of being involved with his sister's then-husband, Kelvin Anene. Maria subsequently denied that she had knowingly broken up a home.
