 An Abuja High court sitting in Maitama has granted Anita and her estranged husband, Paul Okoye divorce. She cited five major reasons for her decision to divorce her husband, among which were, cheating, a claimed separation, being an absentee parent, fraud, and difficult experiences. She also requested a monthly settlement of $20,000 and a number of her husband’s mansions. The court gave a joint custody of the children to the parties in the ruling of the case. 

 

 

The petitioner was however not given any money in the form of alimony or settlement. Paul and Anita met during their undergraduate days in University of Abuja and got married in 2014 in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. Their eight-year-old marriage packed up after Anita relocated to the abroad and filed for divorce from her husband, citing a number of issues. Their union produced three children, Andre, who was born in 2013 and the twins, Nathan and Nadia, born in 2017.
