Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma has revealed the secret behind his successful marriage to Kris Asimonye Ugboma, emphasizing the role of luck in their relationship. In an interview with media personality VJ Adams, the 44-year-old comic actor reflected on his decade-long marriage, attributing his happiness to sheer fortune.
Bovi expressed that he feels fortunate in love, stating that many aspects of marriage are determined by luck before any planning or strategy come into play. His approach to marriage, he explained, involves not taking himself too seriously, which allows for a more relaxed dynamic. Despite facing challenges, he emphasizes the importance of practicing patience and taking life one day at a time.
Acknowledging that no marriage is perfect, Bovi noted that true perfection lies in accepting and embracing each other's imperfections. He further mentioned that he prefers to avoid uncomfortable situations, which is why he considers himself lucky in his marital journey. Bovi's insights highlight the balance of humor and realism that contributes to a lasting and loving partnership.

“One day at a time, and don’t take yourself too seriously. I am lucky when it comes to marriage. I think most marriages have to do with luck before any form of planning comes into play. So, I think I am lucky.
I have learned not to take things too personally, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get pushed or worried. There is no perfect marriage but perfection comes from loving the imperfection.
I am not the type of person who will stay in a place that isn’t conducive, so that’s why I said I am lucky to be where I am, but, for many years, I was doing this one thing at a time, and I am a giver by nature.
I am lucky to have her and her wanting to have me, and wanting to have each other and make it work.”
Bovi and his wife tied the knot in 2009, and has often expressed love for his wife.
In an interview, he shared that he always knew he would marry a beautiful woman, comparing Kris to his mother, whom he described as the most charming person he had ever known.
The couple is now blessed with three children, although Bovi admitted that he had only initially planned to have one.
